To Mrs. Abigail Adams
Your letter of August the 14th has withstood the test of time, Mrs. Adams, and even now, with the many glittering decorations and overwrought tapestries of modernity, many of the problems that plagued your contemporaries maintain a dreadful hold on the societies of the year of our Lord 2010, although that Lord has largely been supplanted. I beg your patience, as I desire greatly to regale you with the many conundrums and paradoxes of the age in which I exist.
Were you to step into our times to observe the state of education, you would at once be delighted and aggriev

Welcome to the Apocalypse
In the Time when Stars fall like snowflakes
To touch the ground with nuclear kisses,
And the Mind of Man manipulates Matter
With soft-spoken silhouettes of Desire,
And the vast Night Yawns above
Like the Divine Hellmouth, frightening, tempting
Those who would plumb her vast Abyss,
In this Time, She rages like a storm
Yet her Eye is clear.
As the World is torn asunder
By what it planted in Darkness,
And the ravages of what men Forgot,
It will be Remembered, at its proper Time,
And the Dawn of the New World
Will blind all but those
With Eyes To See.
A vast Web of Darkness
Is being spun from the Throne of Necessity

Separation of Church and State
The degree to which religion should influence public policy is a national topic of debate and interest, and has been since the inception of the United States. In recent years, this debate has been exacerbated by such policies as the exclusion of Creationism in public science classes, the "under God" clause in the Pledge of Allegiance, and the exclusion of religious iconography from public buildings. This topic has become all the more relevant with the foundation of the Tea Party, which calls for an inclusion of Protestant religious principles being included in those very public and governmental spheres where it has been excluded. Background
That humans are capable of highly sophisticated aesthetic appreciation is unquestionable. The human nervous system is highly complex, and is capable of amazing cognitive and regulatory feats. Scientists who study the brain have rightly looked into the neural processes that result in what we call aesthetic appreciation. However, relatively little research has been done into the capacity for other animals to appreciate art, or even the effect that art has on an animal's brain. Another subject of int
Neuroplasticity
By Alexander Martin
Human beings are remarkably adaptive creatures. This adaptability is evidenced daily, as we interact with our environment. The organ responsible for our adaptability is, of course, the brain. Despite the widely varied examples of adaptability and information processing capabilities our species exhibits daily, from the simplest of actions to the most advanced scientific, mathematical, or artistic feats of mental agility, we have only begun to scratch the surface of the brain's information processing capabilities. Neuroplasticity is defined as the brain's ability to reorganize itself by forming new neural
